Scotland 1998
Glasgow – Drove from Birmingham with the Holt’s through Lake District and then to Glasgow. They were to take the train, but plans fell through, so I gave them a ride. I dropped them off at a Marriott property while I went to a B&B. Harvey was nervous about where I was staying, but it was a beautiful old hotel with a wonderful restaurant below.

Thirsk is the real life town of Alf aka James Herriott. It was exciting to be in the village where the author actually practiced.
