Unfortunate unexpected trip

Posted on: October 17, 2015

On October 1,  I flew to Washington, DC for the funeral and memorial service of a dear friend Fran Stuler.  She had passed away earlier in the summer but being buried at Arlington National Cemetery takes time.

So on a dreary, cold day many of her Nurnberg friends joined Bob,  his daughters and many relatives and friends were joined in grief for a special woman with a constant smile.  Wondering how terrible Alzheimer’s is and how it could take Fran in such a short time.

In spite of the occasion, it was delightful to be with good friends at such a sad time.  Gay McCoy, Herky and Pat DiFabion, Darlene Ehinger, and Meg Davis.

Throughout all this turmoil, poor Meg from Columbia, SC and those who arrived from North Carolina were worrying about their homes and how their return trips would be.  Over the weekend we kept our eyes on the TV weather for news of how much rain the eastern seaboard was accumulating.
