Gatlinburg Experience

Posted on: April 23, 2015

Now this morning I feel like writing and I have to get ready for my workout.  Maybe this is like what I’ve read that writers do.  If they don’t feel like writing, they start and suddenly the juices start flowing.

For that’s what I did this morning, feeling way behind in my writing but feeling very blah about doing it.  Don’t want to quit now.

Mecca for shoppers and not for the nature experience.  Everywhere I looked, a top of a mountain or hillside was being leveled to make room for more commercial.  When you see this, you really believe that legislating to save nature is truly the only way to go for man left alone will  “.. paved paradise to put up a parking lot” .  Kudos to Joni Mitchell!!

My good friend from Purdue asked if could join her for her niece’s wedding.  Not one to say no to going somewhere, I said yes!!  I had no problem getting to our cabin for my phone map led me around the major tourist section.  I was getting close so I called my friend to let her know where I was and found out she and others in the wedding party were crawling along the major road through Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.  Their Garmin’s led them that way.  Amazing differences in programs.

View from the cabin was great, but my camera charger didn’t work hence no pictures except with my phone.  OK< but not great!!
