People are marvelous

Posted on: January 29, 2015

Working at the NRCA conference and year after year you see the same people.  You wonder what they’re like besides being a server, bartender, captain or conference co-ordinator.

Tonight I was talking with one of the servers about how much I like potatoes.  He’s Indian and told me about his garden – 20 lbs of red potatoes, 7 types of tomatoes and eggplant, zucchini, and much more.  He also told me that Rita is a common name in India.  It means praying to Mary.  His wife is Christian (Catholic) and he’s Hindu.  He also explained that 80% of India is Hindu, 10% Christian, 10% Muslim.

So fascinating to find out about people.

Very funny, one of the servers had me sit at a table near one of the men.  He grinned and grinned.  I think he might have been matchmaking!!!

Delightful folks!
