Birds in Arkansas

Posted on: July 5, 2011

I thought there was a male red bellied woodpecker and 2 females, but now I’m watching them and the one with the red head is feeding the other two.  So it must be mom and babies.  They are as large as she is.

Also there’s nuthatches, can’t figure out the sparrow, goldfinches, house finch, starlings, crows.   The nuthatches are fun.  They get the seed from the feeder and take it to the tree to eat in their usual upside down position.
